Experience:-
My Dementia journey started in 2017 when I was required to do some work experience as part of my Sport, Health and Exercise Sciences degree at Bangor University. This was when I was introduced to Dementia Actif Gwynedd and when it all started- that ‘one week’ work experience did not stop as I began volunteering weekly with Dementia Actif Gwynedd. Following the completion of my degree, I was then lucky to be able to complete a Masters by Research degree in Bangor University, researching the impact of Dementia Actif Gwynedd’s physical activity programme with Gwynedd Council’s residential homes. This experience led to my current full-time employment with DementiaGo- what a great journey it has been. My passion and understanding of Dementia has also been enhanced by my Grandmother who is living well with Dementia.
