Boxing Legend- Dave Davies

It was an inspirational day for our sporting memories members today at the newly located Boxing Club at MaesNi Maesgeirchen where the legend Dave Davies now has a permanent home for his impressive collection of trophies.

Dave Davies talked about his boxing career from the age of just 13 and he showed us some great moves and discussed his best and worst fights he had until he retired when he was 33. We got to watch one of his biggest fights at the Commonwealth Games where he achieved an impressive silver medal! (Robbed from the gold!!!)

A big thanks for the warm welcome at MaesNi and to Nigel Pickavance for organising the opening of the boxing room.
