Dementia Actif Gwynedd are launching new sessions aimed at bringing older people together in the community to help improve health and wellbeing. The sessions are open to anyone who’d like the opportunity to take part in gentle exercise and enjoy time to socialise over a cuppa. All abilities welcome and the sessions cater for people effected with dementia and other health conditions. Sessions cost £2 and include a cuppa.
Here’s what’s on offer:-
Heini Llŷn - Keep Agile Class every Friday, 11:00-12:30 at the Community Centre in Sarn Meyllteyrn.(pdf) This class is already up and running.
Heini Bro Ffestiniog - Keep Agile Class every Friday 11:00-12:30 at the Community Centre in Blaenau Ffestiniog. (jpg) Start Friday 4th March 2022.
Both these classes include gentle exercise to help improve strength, balance and stamina. The exercises can be done seated or standing and the instructor will tailor the exercises to suit your ability depending on mobility, injuries or other health conditions.
The Nefyn Sporting Memories Club will be held every other Thursday, 2:00-3:30 at Yr Heliwr pub.
This is a Club which brings sports fans together for the opportunity to talk and reminisce about all kinds of sports. The session will include discussions around specific sports topics; quizzes, Sport the Ball competitions and the odd game of Boccia or New Age Curling. The Club will be launched on Thursday 10th March 2:00pm with local celebrities joining in the fun and providing some entertainment!
